One of the best qualities about owning a cat is their very low maintenance requirements. They really just need some food, a place to go poop, and multiple places to lay and sleep.

Even if you are going to be away from your home for an entire day or even a long weekend, cats will be fine and make do. Just be sure to change the litter before you leave and you are golden. But what about food? I guess you can have a neighbor stop by to feed Fluffy while you are away, but who wants to do that now days?

This is where automatic pet feeds, like the Feeder-Robot enter the picture.

The Feeder-Robot comes from the same company who makes the Litter-Robot, which happens to be my favorite automatic litter box.

The Feeder-Robot is a smart and automatic pet feeder that allows you to control your pet’s feeding schedule on your phone or by using the physical buttons on the device.

Feeder-Robot Design

When I first saw the Feeder-Robot it really reminded me of a fancy coffee maker. It has that same modern and minimalistic feel to it.

The Feeder-Robot comes in two different color offerings. You can pick between black and white models. Each model will have the same design and features.

The machine is 15″ tall, 13″ across and 12.5″ deep, making it a great size for pretty much any location in your home.

You will need to make sure that the unit is near an outlet, since it does need to have its 110 volt cord plugged in.

You’ll find a circle on the upper part of the device that allows you to dispense food, schedule feedings, edit portion sizes, and see if the WIFI is connected. Of course if you don’t want to push the physical buttons on the device, you can do it all from your phone.

The top of the feeder can be remove so you can add the food of your choosing. The Feeder-Robot has anti-jamming technology, so most foods should work fine, as long as they aren’t made up of huge chunks of food.

What’s In The Box?

When you open the box for your new Feeder-Robot you will find the actual feeder, its 110 volt power cord, one plastic feeding bowl and a user manual. Pretty simple.

This helps keep set up fairly simple and straight forward, since there aren’t a bunch of parts or accessories.

The AutoPets Connect App

AutoPets Connect App

The AutoPets app that controls your Feeder-Robot is very intuitive and is laid out very well. I was very impressed with the app overall. It really makes it easy to feed your pet when you are away, set up a schedule, view feeding statistics, and much more.

The app can be especially helpful if you are monitoring a sick cat or dog and you want to see how much or how often they have been eating.

Can The Feeder-Robot Work With Dogs?

Yes, the Feeder-Robot is made to work with cats and dogs. It is more ideal for smaller breed dogs, as larger dogs might find the bowl small and the area confined, but you can definitely use it for dogs.

Feeder-Robot Pros

  • Easy to set up
  • Impressive app
  • Easy scheduling and feeding
  • Made from safe materials for cats and dogs
  • Works for cats and dogs
  • Very accurate on feeding times and portions
  • Nice looking

And The Cons

  • Expensive
  • A little small for larger dogs
  • Few options for portions

Should You Buy The Feeder-Robot?

If you are someone who is away from your home for several hours day with no one else to feed your pets, then the Feeder-Robot is a great option.

It is also a great option for anyone with a sick pet, where you need to monitor how often and how much they eat.

It is a bit pricey at around $250, but I still feel like it is a great value with all that you get. Click here to check it out on Amazon.

If it were my money, I’d have no problem spending the $250 for this high tech automatic feeder.
